Over twenty years ago, Brad's good friend and his partners found their soul in Quatsino, BC. In 2023, I finally stepped into that mist-covered paradise myself, and I was hooked. In 2024, I put my heart on the line when I was invited to bid on a share in their paradies. When the news came that I wasn't the successful bidder, it stung—but as it turns out, God had a much bigger vision in mind.
I couldn't shake the magic of the North Island. I spent the rest of that year sharing my passion with anyone who would listen, sparking a fire in a handful of close friends and family. Together, my parents, Kent, Kim and I didn't just want to buy a piece of history; we wanted to build our own. We formed The Great Outdoors Properties Inc. and the real "grind" began.

The Sacrifice: Countless days for Brad away from his family back in Alberta, trading the comforts of home for the unpredictable West Coast elements. His wife Christine held down the homefront; a sacrifice of her own that hopefully this dream can repay with decades of family memories. "I love you Christine for everything you do for this family and allowing me to chase my dreams. I look forward to the years when we can pursue your dreams together and I can support you. And I look forward to this piece of paradising growing on you"
The Physical Labor: A year-long marathon of major renovations, swinging hammers and hauling timber to bring our vision to life.
Today, the dust has settled, the paint is dry, and the result is nothing short of breathtaking. We aren't just looking at a house; we are looking at a testament to what happens when "like-minded" becomes "hard-working." We have been welcomed into the Quatsino community by some of the most generous and hard working people you could meet. Each and everyone one of them with open arms, and we couldn't be more grateful.
This isn't a complex. It’s a simple, beautiful truth: by combining our expertise, our resources, and our sweat equity, we’ve unlocked a lifestyle that none of us could reach alone.
Maybe in the future we can replicate this model in other stunning corners of the world—gathering groups of friends who may only have a few weeks a year to escape, but have a lifetime of memories they want to build. We are investing in real estate, yes—but more importantly, we are investing in our own families, with friends.
